Consumer phones aren't
made for delivery work.

An affordable Samsung appears to be good deal until you realize you'll need to replace it every 18 months. Consumer devices fail 3.5 times more in the field, and every dead phone mid-route is measured on your Scorecard.

3.5× Lower failure rate vs. consumer phones in field conditions
36+ Months of device lifespan — vs. 12–18 months for consumer-tier
42.6% Lower annual operating costs (VDC Research, business vs. consumer)

A $150 Samsung costs more
than a Zebra over 24 months.

Consider replacements, setup time, ghost lines, and routes that failed. When you add everything up, business devices are less expensive.

42.6%
It costs more to run consumer devices than rugged business devices. More than half of the operating cost comes from lost time due to device issues.

Covered on both ends

Every device deployed has protection by Zebra OneCare on the hardware side and locked down by Esper MDM on the software side.

Zebra OneCare

Hardware protected. Next-day replacement.

Every Zebra we deploy includes OneCare support. If a device fails (a broken screen, a bad drop, a spill) Zebra sends a pre-configured replacement to your station the following business day. No out-of-pocket repairs. No carrier warranty process. Your DA stays on the road.

  • Accidental damage covered; including drops, spills, and cracked screens
  • Next-business-day advance replacement, preconfigured for your fleet
  • LifeGuard security patches keep devices updated beyond standard Android support
Esper MDM

Software locked. Turnover handled.

Esper is installed by default on all devices. It locks devices to work apps, ships them pre-enrolled so new DAs can pick up and go, and wipes them as soon as a driver quits. A leaving driver cannot factory reset the device and keep it.

  • Work-only mode: Amazon Delivery App, Mentor, and Chime. Nothing else.
  • Zero-touch enrollment: new DA, new shift, zero setup time
  • Remote wipe + factory-reset protection — devices re-enroll even after a reset

One partner.
The whole stack.

Zebra hardware. OneCare service. Esper MDM. Wireless plans tailored to actual usage. Monthly bill audit — ghost lines eliminated. Not five vendors, just one.

Questions from DSP owners

What does Zebra OneCare cover?

OneCare covers accidental damage such as drops, cracked screens, spills, and general wear and tear. When a device fails, we initiate a next-business-day advance replacement: a pre-configured, "like-new" device is delivered to your station before you even return the broken one. Standard manufacturer warranties only cover defects and expire after one year. OneCare goes above and beyond during the duration of the contract.

What does Esper do for my fleet?

Esper is the MDM platform that controls all devices. It restricts devices to the apps your DAs require: Amazon Delivery App, Mentor, and Chime, while blocking everything else. Devices come pre-enrolled, so a new DA simply turns on and operates. When a driver quits, we remotely wipe and lock the device. And because Esper leverages factory-reset protection, a driver cannot wipe the device and keep it; it re-enrolls automatically.

How do TC27 and TC78 compare?

The TC27 is an excellent choice for most DSP operations because it is 5G-capable, durable, and the most popular device we deploy. The TC78 is designed for harsher environments, with a drop rating of 10 feet compared to 6 feet for the TC27, a 600-nit display that can be read in bright sunlight, and a 10-year Zebra service lifecycle. If your DAs work in challenging environments or your fleet is subjected to a lot of physical wear, the TC78 is a worthwhile investment.

What happens to the device after a DA quits?

Flag the departure, and we use Esper to remotely wipe and relock the device. The carrier line is deactivated. The device is returned to your reserve pool, eliminating the need for a re-setup for the next hiring. Esper's factory-reset protection prevents the driver from wiping the device and keeping it.

Do you work with every carrier?

Yes. We maintain carrier partnerships with all major carriers. If you're under contract, we can evaluate your existing lines and right-size plans without performing a switch. Most of the savings come from matching plan size to actual DA usage.

Is there a minimum fleet size?

No minimum. We work with businesses ranging from 20-DA operations to multi-station fleets with over 100 drivers. Pricing scales with fleet size, so smaller organizations receive the same managed service without a large-fleet contract.

How fast can devices reach our station?

The majority of first-time orders, pre-staged and enrolled, ship within 3-5 business days. Orders of 50 or more devices for new fleets typically take 7-10 business days. Reserve restocking for active accounts is faster. If you have a specific launch date in mind, please let us know right away, and we will work to meet it.

What if a device is damaged beyond remote repair?

Under Zebra OneCare, we organize a next-business-day advance replacement that's' pre-configured for your fleet, ensuring your DA doesn't miss a shift. The damaged equipment is returned under warranty. No out-of-pocket repair costs, no carrier queues, and no Scorecard hits from a non-running route.
